The Customer Merge strategy combines any linkage information to identify a customer – for example, linking all behaviours of an anonymous user to their behaviours as a logged-in user. The Customer Distinction strategy uses deterministic, primary identifiers to identify a customer, helping maintain a higher quality of data as user behaviour is linked based on higher-quality identifiers.
